"Grand Theft Auto 5 PC Almost Complete", Rockstar

Rockstar Games recently published a special Asked & Answered session that addressed a number of topics including the status of Grand Theft Auto V on PC. The good news here is that the game appears to be on track for its ship date, just over two months after the game made its debut on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in the middle of November.

Rockstar reported, "We're presently in the final stages of development on the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5 and hope to have confirmed official system requirements to share soon here at the Newswire, please stay tuned for that to be announced in the coming week, Thank you and we're very excited to bring GTA5 to the PC gaming community!"

Rockstar also cleared about transferring characters from GTA Online and the four consoles to the PC version. As it stands now, gamers can transfer their progress from the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. That same progress can be transferred again from the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 to the PC version. For more information, gamers are encouraged to read the transfer information article here.

The Rockstar confirmed that GTA OnlineHeists will be playable on the PC in addition to the four console versions. The studio also talks about the first-person mode not coming to the older consoles. In essence, there's not enough memory in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 to add this feature.

Rockstar reported, "First Person Mode is a new feature that is only technically possible for us to add to the game with the expanded memory that the new generation platforms provide. There are thousands of new animations added to the game to facilitate First Person Mode, which would have been impossible to do on the previous generation of consoles without seriously compromising the game in some other capacity."

Rockstar reassured its fans that the studio won't focus on first-person games from here on out. While Rockstar loves the response it's received from fans regarding the First Person Mode, the company will remain committed to the third-person experience. However, Rockstar wants to provide gamers with a choice, and a first-person perspective may make its way into a future game.
