Apple says iPhone 6 Plus has camera flaw, offers free fix!

Apple on Saturday announced that a small number of iPhone 6 Plus devices have a camera flaw. The flaw, according to the company, may result in a component failure in the rear camera and that in return may lead to blurry photos.
The company has issued a service advisory asking users of the iPhone 6 Plus to check the serial number of their phone at the Apple site. If your iPhone 6 Plus is affected, Apple would repair it free of cost.
"Apple has determined that, in a small percentage of iPhone 6 Plus devices, the iSight camera has a component that may fail causing your photos to look blurry. The affected units fall into a limited serial number range and were sold primarily between September 2014 and January 2015," the company noted in an advisory. "If your iPhone 6 Plus is producing blurry photos and falls into the eligible serial number range, Apple will replace your device's iSight camera, free of charge."
The advisory applies to consumers across the world. So, Indian consumers of the iPhone 6 Plus too should check if their phone is affected or not.
The iPhone 6 Plus is Apple's first large-screen phone. Though the company hasn't explained what could be the problem with the camera module, it seems the issue is with mechanical part of the camera module. It is possible that due to the faulty assembly, a lens or parts related to optical image stabilisation may malfunction and lead to blurry images.
The flaw doesn't seem to affect the iPhone 6. While both the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus have similar cameras in terms of image sensor, the device with bigger screen also offers consumers optical image stabilization.
