Intex Aqua Sense 5.0 Dual SIM Smartphone Launched at Rs. 4,690

Soon after launching the Cloud Pace smartphone, Intex has now introduced its new Aqua Sense 5.0 handset. Priced at Rs. 4,690, the Intex Aqua Sense 5.0 smartphone is now listed on the company's site with pricing details. So far, there has been no announcement from Intex about the handset's availability.

The Aqua Sense 5.0 features dual-SIM (3G+2G) support and runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. It comes with a 5-inch (540x960 pixels) qHD IPS display. The smartphone is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Spreadtrum (SC7731) processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. It bears 8GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).

It sports a 5-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash, while there is a secondary 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera also on board. The Aqua Sense 5.0 smartphone rear camera features scene detection, face recognition, Panorama, geo-tagging, Best shot, Smile shot, and HDR options.

On the connectivity front, the Aqua Sense 5.0 offers 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth options. The smartphone packs a 2000mAh battery, which according to the official listing is rated to deliver up to 10 hours of talk time, and up to 230 hours of standby time. It measures 145.5x73x8.9mm; weighs 160 grams, and will be available in Black, Champagne, and White colours.

The Intex Aqua Sense 5.0 supports 22 languages and comes preloaded with Intex Play, Intex Service, Myntra, Newshunt, Quikr, and Opera Mini. The company touts that the handset supports FOTA (firmware over-the-air) updates.

Intex on Tuesday launched the Cloud Pace at Rs. 6,999 and announced that the smartphone will be exclusive to ShopClues, an e-commerce website.

According to a recent Quarterly Mobile Tracker published by International Data Corporation (IDC), Intex was the third top smartphone brand in India in terms of shipments. IDC claimed that Intex remained strong in the sub-$100 (approximately Rs. 6,500) price segment, which contributed to at least four-fifths of the company's overall volume. Recent launches including the Intex Aqua 4G+ also helped the company to gain a small initial volume.
