Chinese tech major Lenovo on Monday announced its photography-centric Vibe Shot smartphone in India. The company hosted an innovative photography workshop in New Delhi to make the announcement. Nat Geo photography creative Hannah Reyes took center stage to give media a good look at some of the exciting camera features of the Vibe Shot at the workshop.
The company hasn't, however, disclosed the exact date of launch and pricing of the smartphone yet. When asked it said the Vibe Shot would be launching in India very soon. Also, it was quick to mention that the Vibe Shot is a premium phone and would be priced accordingly.
The Vibe Shot was first announced by Lenovo at the Mobile World Congress event held in Barcelona earlier this year, along with a host of other products, including the A7000.
The Lenovo Vibe Shot caters exclusively to photography enthusiasts. It comes with a dedicated two-stage shutter release button, a rarity among smartphones of the current generation. It also includes a settings slider - right next to the shutter release - that lets you choose between Smart (auto) and Pro (manual) photography modes.
The Vibe Shot offers a 16MP rear camera with optical image stabilisation, auto-focus and triple LED flash. It also includes an 8MP camera on the front.
Rest of the hardware is in line with what we've come to expect from decent mid-range phones. It comes with a 5-inch FullHD IPS display with a 1080x1920 pixels resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
The Vibe Shot is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 processor coupled with Adreno 405 GPU and 3GB RAM. It comes with 32GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.
The dual-SIM smartphone runs Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out-of-the-box with the company's own Vibe UI on top. Connectivity options include: Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual band, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS with A-GPS, 4G LTE among others.
The Vibe Shot is backed by non-removable 3,000 mAh battery.
Lenovo, as a smartphone brand is doing well in India. Its budget 4G phones have received good response from buyers, chiefly because of the value for money quotient that these devices bring to the table. The A6000, the A6000 Plus and the A7000 are fine examples of this trend.
Only recently, the company launched the A2010 which is now the cheapest Android-based 4G LTE smartphone in India.
Lenovo has also joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Make in India initiative and is now locally manufacturing smartphones here at its newly inaugurated facility in Sriperambudur in Chennai.
It is necessary for corporate event planners to pay the required attention to the aim of any particular corporate events. Launching a new consumer product is a good example of how to handle a special type of the corporate event. Launching an item includes the customer indictment as the greatest goal.
