Micromax’s online only subsidiary YU has sent out invites for a launch event which will take place on September 8. The invite includes the message, “When future meets past, the next wonder will be unveiled”. The company might unveil its fourth smartphone at this event.
In its invite, the company has shown parts of the phone which might launch on that day. Interestingly, the smartphone is likely to be launched exclusively in partnership with Snapdeal.
Amidst new smartphone launches and price drops, Yu Yureka Plus had received a price drop last month of Rs 1,000 pricing the device at Rs 8,999.
The Yu Yureka Plus sports a 5.5-inch full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, as opposed to the 5.5-inch HD display that was seen on the YU Yureka. The Yureka Plus will feature the latest Cyanogen 12 OS based on the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. Just like the original, this phone also comes with dual-SIM configuration with support for 4G SIM cards. The device houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC which has an octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz along with Adreno 405 GPU paired with 2GB of RAM.
You will get 16GB onboard storage space along with an option to expand it to 32GB via a microSD card. On the camera front, you get a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. YU Yureka Plus will be powered by a 2,500 mAh battery. On the connectivity front, you will get Wi-fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and more. It will come in two variants: Alabaster white and Moodust gray.
