TomTom, a company popular for its navigation and mapping devices and GPS watches, has just released four variants of its new Spark GPS series of watches. They will be selling on Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon.
The four watches include TomTom Spark GPS priced at Rs 13,999, TomTom Spark Cardio GPS priced at Rs 17,999, TomTom Spark Music GPS priced at Rs 17,999 and the TomTom Spark Cardio + Music GPS fitness watch priced at Rs 21,999.
Apart from this TomTom is also offering headphone bundles with some watches. For instance the TomTom Spark Music GPS Fitness Watch + Headphones Bundle will be selling for Rs 21,999 and the TomTom Spark Cardio + Music GPS Fitness Watch + Headphones Bundle will be selling for Rs 25,999.
The new TomTom Spark watches with the music nomenclature come with 3GB of space for storing your music (TomTom says it can contain around 500 songs) which can be played back via bluetooth headphones or earphones. This completely bypasses the need to carry along your smartphones or media players on your runs if you just want to listen to music.
The fitness watch streams music to a wide range of Bluetooth headphones, and comes preloaded with Running Trax, which is a 30 min high energy upbeat playlist curated by the Ministry of Sound. You can also add playlists from iTunes or Windows Media Player.
The TomTom Spark watches with the Cardio branding comes with the optical heart rate sensor. All the watches come with multi-sport tracking covering running, swimming, cycling and treadmill modes.
According to TomTom the watch can be used for 3 weeks if used only for regular activity tracking, but with the heart rate monitor and GPS turned on, you will get around 11 hours. TomTom Spark Cardio + Music GPS Fitness Watch will give an active battery life of 5 hours if all modes are activated.
Just like other fitness trackers, the TomTom Spark watches can also provide 24×7 activity tracking covering steps walked, active minutes, distance covered, calories burned and sleep duration.
Speaking at the launch, Peter Frans, co-founder of TomTom International B.V, said “Our internal study revealed that over 75% of people listen to music while they work out and many use a smartphone to do so. We have solved this uncomfortable problem with the integrated music player in the TomTom Spark.”
