OnePlus 2 users will get Android 6.0.1 based OxygenOS 3.0 update

OnePlus has started the soak test of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based build of its OxygenOS for the OnePlus 2 smartphone. Soak test means seeding the update to only a few users in order to identify issues with the software build and iron them out before the wider rollout.

Screenshots shared by a user with Android Police show the Android 6.0.1 based OxygenOS 3.0 update for OnePlus 2, the last update the smartphone received was named OxygenOS 2.2.1.

Among the new features that OxygenOS based on Android 6.0 will bring to OnePlus 2 are new wallpapers, UI tweaks, alert slider and more homescreen customization options, among others.

There is no official word yet on how long OnePlus will continue the soak test.

The smartphone received a price cut recently, bringing the prices of the 16GB and 64GB variants down to Rs 20,999 and Rs 22,999, respectively.
